Overview
Halo's founder, Hailey Omollo, built her own platform as a proof of concept for the agency's content philosophy: lived expertise, editorial taste, and an algorithmic instinct.
The Challenge
Starting from zero as a new creator in 2023 in an already-saturated modeling and lifestyle category, with no agency backing, no paid amplification, and no shortcut. The challenge was cutting through with content that actually had a point of view in a feed full of sameness.
- Saturated modeling and lifestyle category with established creators.
- No agency or paid amplification to lean on.
- Needed a tight, defensible content angle that wasn't already being done.
- Had to build trust with non-followers fast enough for the algorithm to push the work.
The Halo Treatment
- Defined a tight content pillar around modeling, posing, and casting education for women who don't fit the traditional supermodel mold.
- Shot and edited in-house at editorial quality, every single week.
- Iterated relentlessly on hooks, formats, and pacing based on platform signals.
- Launched a broadcast channel to deepen the community beyond the feed.

Grew to 135K followers from a standing start, with a 6.2K-strong broadcast channel where I share advice and motivation and talk to followers about the things nobody else in the modeling world wants to discuss: rejection, imposter syndrome, the reality of casting.
Multiple reels have crossed 4 million views, with more than 99% of those views coming from non-followers every time, a clear signal that the content was earning reach on substance, not audience size.
